This so speaks to me.....I left my dysfunctional, co-dependent, marriage eight months ago. I know that I had to leave to take care of me, but still I worry about 'him.' My feelings are all wrapped around my guilt in leaving. You have said something to the effect, that guilt is a feeling you get when you know you are doing something that you don't want to do. In this case, I think my guilt says that 'I don't want to disappoint him, or appear to be a bad person.' Seeking approval still.....Old habits die hard........

Chandra your words are so powerful and so true...Your words,"The degree that you know and love yourself is the degree that you will know and love the Universe.
Why is it so difficult to really love ourselfs and to know we are worthy....
How do we really, REALLY know ourselves...

Chandra Alexander

Barry - Unless you have a quiet mind you can never stay in the present moment. The present moment is the ONLY place you can ever really KNOW your Self. Really KNOWING is a state of being, not an intellectual understanding.
Loving is without judgement. It is a total acceptance of "what is." That means we accept what it is to be human; we do the work, but cut ourselves some slack. We learn to accept the good, the bad and the ugly and know that ALL of it is what makes us who we are - a divine creature, unlike any other.
